Audio conferencing is one of the simplest, yet cost effective collaborations tools available that improves business communications and increases employee productivity. The Consortium conference server has been a trusted and reliable product for the enterprise and military fields for over 20 years. The Consortium III is the latest generation software-based audio-conferencing application from Forum Communications. It is based on the Consortium Technology Platform and includes the WebView enhanced browser interface for easy-to-use and simple scheduling and administration.
Consortium III can be deployed using commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware avoiding costly proprietary hardware.
Forum typically deploys Consortium III on Dell servers that are built with redundancy. Each server has dual 1TB SATA drives and dual hot swappable power supplies. This compact design is expandable from 30 to 2000 SIP sessions in a 1U chassis. Consortium III can also be deployed on-premise or in the cloud.
Forum is one of very few vendors that holds current Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification. JITC certification is the stringent Department of Defense (DoD) testing process that must be passed in order to deploy communication products into the military. Once successfully complete, the vendors’ products go onto the DoD Approved Product List (APL) for military use. On July 29, 2021, the Consortium III Conference System software, Release 11.2 was approved for listing on the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) Approved Products List (APL) after testing and certification by JITC.
